As a large industry card of the gold card project, 1.2 billion cards have been successfully issued in the public security system, with a total of 8 billion smart cards issued. In 2004, the gold card project took the lead in launching the key application pilot and demonstration project of Internet of things RFID, actively exploring and guiding the development of Internet of things in China, and laying a solid application and market foundation for the start-up of Internet of things industry. At the end of last year, the national gold card Internet of things application alliance was officially established, which began to closely link the gold card application experience with the Internet of things application. In the next few years, the gold card project will become a reality no matter in mobile payment or in the more extensive application of Internet of things RFID.

At present, the 4th five year plan of the golden card project has included the development of the Internet of things.
